Join us on Thursday April 21st at 6pm for an incredible horizontal tasting of Wayfarer Vineyards. Jayson Pahlmeyer and Helen Turley teamed up to bring Burgundy to California and they absolutely struck gold!

“After nearly 30 years as an acclaimed Napa Valley vintner Jayson Pahlmeyer became increasingly entranced by the wines of Burgundy. “Every oenophile eventually gravitates to the wines of Burgundy,” he says.”

“Helen declared it destined to be “the La Tache of California” as Jayson claimed the land for his own.”

2013 was a phenomenal year and these 94+ point rated wines absolutely prove it. Pinot with a little age is always best!!

2017 Wayfarer Chardonnay, Fort Ross-Seaview | $89.99

97 Points | Jeb Dunnuck
A beautiful, Burgundian nose of orchard fruits, white flowers, chalky minerality, and honeysuckle emerge from the 2019 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard, a riveting, pure, flawlessly balanced Chardonnay that shines on all accounts. Picking up a kiss of green almond and toast with time in the glass, it has beautifully integrated acidity, a layered, rich yet light on its feet mouthfeel, and a great finish. This is just about as good as it gets in 2019 with regards to Chardonnay. Give bottles a year or two in the cellar and enjoy through 2032.

2013 Wayfarer Golden Mean Pinot Noir, Fort Ross-Seaview | $130

95 Points |James Suckling
Golden Mean is a union of contrasts: the earthy aromatics and powerful structure of the Pommard clone married with the elegance and alluring perfume of the Swan clone. This wine is an aromatic journey, beginning with floral notes of magnolia and lavender, leading to vibrant fruit tones of cranberry and mandarin, finishing with warm garden scents of marjoram and fresh anise. The velvet mouthfeel glides through a mid-palate rich with raspberries, rose hips and hints of black pepper and cedar. Ready to savor upon release, this wine will age beautifully for another 10-15 years.

2013 Wayfarer Mother Rock Pinot Noir, Fort Ross-Seaview | $130

96 Points | James Suckling
Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2013 Pinot Noir Mother Rock (made from Mt. Eden and 777 clones) has a gorgeous, spicy nose of Chinese five spice, raspberry coulis, red currant jelly and dried rose petals with a touch of smoked meat. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is opulent and seductive, with velvety tannins and lovely, understated freshness, finishing with lingering perfumed notes.

2013 Wayfarer ‘Wayfarer Vineyard’ Pinot Noir, Fort Ross-Seaview | $130

94 Points | Wine Enthusiast
This rich and harmonious cuvee of 12 Pinot Noir clones beautifully showcases Wayfarer's vibrant spectrum of single-vineyard, estate-grown fruit. The wine is a dazzling deep ruby color that leads with heady aromas of wild blackcurrant and freshly picked strawberry. It evolves with notes of licorice and toasted oak, finishing with an intriguing lilt of forest floor, leather, rose petal and raspberry. The bright, juicy entry evokes flavors of cranberry and cherry, harmonized with a grip of fine tannins and earthy tones of cedar and tar. The long finish surprises with its fresh minerality and intense aromatics of violet and Tahitian vanilla. Showy now with two hours of decanting at cellar temperature, watch this wine evolve beautifully with cellaring up to 15 years.

2012 Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume 375ml, Loire | $34.99

95 Points | W&S If you love chenin, as I do, do yourself a favor and pour a glass of this wine. You’ll be welcomed into a gracious, aristocratic pleasure of the Loire and, maybe, as the silken grace of this vinous bliss threatens to leave you but just keeps lasting for minutes, you’ll think to yourself, this golden beauty is one reason why it’s great to be alive. Or maybe you’ll think of the best peach you can remember tasting, concentrated in its sweetness yet so deft and elegant it simply won’t leave your memory.
