NV Jean Laurent Brut Rose Champagne, France | $64.99
93 Points I Robert Parker
The NV Cuvée Rosé Brut is 100% Pinot Noir based on 2008 (90%). The color is an intense orange-colored pink and the nose offers beautifully subtle, but also deep, intense flavors of ripe and macerated Pinot Noir and lemon. There is also great purity and finesse on the structured palate. The finish is fresh and reveals a perfect fruit. This Rosé drinks almost like a light red wine.
2019 Pulido Walker Chardonnay, Napa Valley | $155
The 2019 Pulido~Walker Mt.Veeder Estate Chardonnay shows a good bit of minerality, with the lime-blossom edge and oyster shell notes we associate with cooler-climate Chardonnays. We gravitated to the wines aged in new Louis Latour barrels, which contribute some brioche. This is clearly mountain-grown Chardonnay—almost a category unto itself. Broad shouldered and muscular, even with no skin contact, the 2019 Pulido~Walker Mt.Veeder Estate Chardonnay will cellar well and continue to intrigue.
2018 Pulido Walker Mt. Veeder Vineyard Cabernet, Napa Valley | $290
98+ Points I Wine Advocate
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder Estate is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes barreling out of the glass with bold notes of blackcurrant pastilles, blueberry pie, warm plums and crushed rocks with hints of fragrant earth, black truffles and olives. Full-bodied, rich and packed with juicy black fruit, it has a firm, grainy texture and lively backbone, with a long-lingering minty kick on the finish. 400 cases were made. 98+ points
