This legendary Burgundian estate was founded in 1924 by Georges Roumier and has since become a standard-bearer for sensational Burgundy. Now headed by Georges’ grandson Christophe, the winery uses mostly destemmed fruit and executes fermentations in oak. This elegant and aromatic Pinot Noir oozes with flavors of fresh red berries, wet earth, and brown spices. Tightly wound acidity, supple tannins, and crisp fruit-forwardness lead to a pure and persistent finish. Drink now or lay down for the long haul!
A pure red, saturated with black cherry, black currant, violet, spice and mineral notes, showing a dense, almost chunky feel. A beam of vivid acidity cuts through, adding grace and focusing the flavors. Fine length. Best from 2022 through 2037.
