A few years ago, we held our grand opening for the tasting room after remodeling. In that tasting we featured incredible wines from around the world and one wine stood out a little more than the rest. It was the Delille Four Flags Cabernet, a wine that was relatively new to me but one that would soon become a favorite of mine. It was also the least expensive wine in the tasting by around $50!
“The winery focuses on the Red Mountain AVA and grape sourcing from Washington’s leading Grand Cru vineyards. DeLille Cellars was named the “Lafite Rothschild of Washington State” and a 5-star/outstanding producer, the same designation awarded Cheval Blanc and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, by Robert Parker.”
Delille makes a beautiful lineup of wines in addition to the Four Flags Cabernet. One of my favorites is the D2 red blend that just so happens to be a Merlot based blend. This wine is truly phenomenal and has everything that you are looking for in a big red blend. Jeb Dunnuck, formerly rating for Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, rates this wine 94 points and I believe that it is worth every single point!!
Jump on this one now, there are only a few cases in Dallas, and it will go fast!

The largest production cuvee, notes of graphite, crushed rocks, caramelized black cherries and dark chocolate all define the ripe, sexy, full-bodied 2015 D2 Proprietary Red Wine. Made from 58% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and a splash of Petit Verdot, from a who’s who list of vineyards in Washington State, this beauty has tons of upfront fruit, as well as a firm, nicely structured core. Hats off to the team at Delille for consistently producing this level of quality at this quantity.
