The 2013 Guado al Tasso is silkier and more vibrant than ever, but is still a wine of great elegance and finesse. In a cool vintage, the Cabernet Sauvignon brought notes of aromatic herbs and mint along with crisp tannins which added length to the finish. Merlot gave concentration and texture with ample sensations of plums and blackberries, while the Cabernet Franc contributed to intensifying the finish with notes of licorice and cassis. Finally, the Petit Verdot added underlying spice notes to the elegant finish.
Blend: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc,2% Petit Verdot
This is a very sleek and racy wine with lots of stone, white-pepper and fresh-rosemary character. Then it takes off with dried ripe fruits such as currants and blueberries. Dark chocolate, too. This a real mouthful yet remains agile and powerful. Linear and long finish. Great precision. Best ever from Guado al Tasso?
